According to The Live Feed Netflix, Hasbro, game publisher Wizards of the Coast and “Avengers: Endgame” directors Joe and Anthony Russo are all teaming up for an anime TV series based on the fantasy trading card game franchise “Magic: The Gathering”.

Henry Gilroy (“Star Wars Rebels”) and Jose Molina (“Agent Carter) will serve as lead writers on the series which will be the first screen adaptation of the nearly $1 billion property with them and the Russos executive producing. Fox previously attempted a big screen version in 2014 which never got made.

“We have been huge fans and players of Magic: The Gathering for as long as it has been around, so being able to help bring these stories to life through animation is a true passion project for us,” the Russos said in a joint statement.

An episode order and length of each installment has yet to be determined as Netflix will let the storytelling drive those decisions. An all-new storyline will be created and will expand on the stories of the Planeswalkers as they contend with stakes larger than any one world can hold.

Launched in 1993, the Magic franchise counts a massive 38 million fans to date.
